Today I’d like to share a few thoughts on how to reach business owners via social media.
When you’re in B2B, there is one simple rule to grow: Talk to business owners. You can’t grow in B2B if you don’t talk to potential clients (read: decision makers).
For many agencies’ clients like most of our clients, the decision maker is the business owner.
A business owner who’s also in charge of marketing decisions is probably a very busy person, dealing with all kinds of stuff at the same time, and without any free mental capacity during the day to focus on any offer that might come in by e-mail or social media.
But then, finally: weekend comes.
No phone calls. (hopefully)
No employee discussions.
No client meetings.
Finally … just the business owner and her/his thoughts.
– about business!
Very often, when a business owner with a growth mindset has a moment for “themselves”, they will start thinking about their company.
Whatever they consume on YouTube, Facebook, TV etc. will mentally be related back to their business.
So, the best time to reach a business owner is not from 9-5 during the week, but on weekends.
You can obviously not reach them by phone, though.
You need to reach them via the media they consume:
They will be much more open to new ideas, and willing to take a few seconds to evaluate whether your offer could help their business.
